Corsica Group Picture mit Kaos und Komedy
Note to Self: Documenting the Kinetic and Mimetic Theater — the Divine Madness — of a posed group photo may produce an artistic artifact far superior to the group photo itself. The group placed all their cameras on timers in the windows of the gite, and then dashed to take their places in the tableau. I had impulsively set my iPhone running to capture the group-picture-staging process… with delightful and expected effect. Many of the charms of the video are obvious on first viewing… Suzanne’s diving flourish… the casual slackening of focus and wandering when the timed cameras appear to have fired… the discovery that some shots are not yet taken… antics to recover position… and so forth. But I draw your special attention to Jeff [top right] whose dignified pose gradually deteriorates into more intimate theatrical self-expression, culminating in a glorious mono-digital exploration of his nasal cavity.
